About Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency (PRDA)
The Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency (PRDA) is a faith-based national non-governmental organization (NGO) that was established in 1993 as the development and humanitarian arm of the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan and Sudan (PCOSS/S). Operating with a clear commitment to Christian values and humanitarian ethics, PRDA exists to serve the people of South Sudan, particularly those affected by conflict, displacement, food insecurity, and natural disasters.
PRDA was legally registered in Kenya in 1996 and with the Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (SRRC) in 2003, and later in 2008 under the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Constitutional Development of South Sudan. Its registration has been renewed consistently, with the most recent certificate granted by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in 2020.
As a locally grounded organization, PRDA combines its deep understanding of local contexts with a strong network through the Presbyterian Church, enabling it to reach even the most vulnerable and hard-to-access communities across the country.
Our Mission
To carry out community-based relief, rehabilitation, and development initiatives that meet the physical, social, and economic needs of South Sudanese people — with a focus on children, women, and other marginalized groups.
Our Vision
A peaceful, empowered, and developed South Sudanese society where every individual is enabled to realize their full potential through service, justice, and compassion.
Our Core Values
Dignity of Every Person - We believe every individual is created in God’s image and deserves respect, compassion, and equitable treatment.
Unity of Purpose - We foster teamwork and shared vision among staff, partners, and communities.
Mutual Submission - We work alongside the communities we serve, listening, learning, and responding in humility.
Trueness of Love and Care - We act as a channel of Christ’s love through our service to the poor and disadvantaged.
Equality - We serve all people regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, or background.
